Justin Jones

"Art captures emotions and preserves them so they remain fresh and timeless."

Justin began his formal training in visual arts while in high school, and continued through college, studying at Southeast Missouri State University, and the Imperial College in London, England. He received a B.F.A. specializing in graphic design and illustration in 2002, and soon thereafter began working as an art director for a St. Louis marketing firm. Along with creating graphics for names like Google, Anheuser-Busch, Target, and Mozilla, Justin was also the company photographer.

"Though I love designing, I began to realize that the true passion in my work is based around photography."

In 2005, Justin met highly sought after St. Louis photographer Stephen Seebeck. "Steve approached me for graphic work, initially, but quickly asked me to shoot along with him at weddings. I agreed and found the whole process to be an exciting way to use all of my skills in one setting." The two years Justin spent as a second photographer allowed him the opportunity to closely study the process of wedding photography, and to adjust and adapt to the nuances of each ceremony. During that time, Justin was able to move away from the corporate job setting and embark into the world of freelance design, which offered great insight in how to maintain a professional business attitude while continuing to advance creatively.

Justin continues to work as a freelance designer along with shooting weddings and portraits. His eye as a designer, illustrator, and photographer, along with his business experience has given him an edge rarely afforded to those focusing on only one medium.

"I thoroughly enjoy building relationships with my clients, understanding their wants and needs, and establishing a comfortable setting when they're in front of my lens."
